This talk will analyze both media coverage and records of resistance of the "Hiroshima Maidens" Project (1955-56), in which American surgeons provided "complimentary" plastic surgery to 25 Japanese women who survived the atomic bomb. Jennifer Sibara, Ph.D. is a candidate for the position of Assistant Professor of Women and Gender Studies at SFSU
