The College of Ethnic Studies has partnered with The Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity and its Multicultural Dyslexia Awareness Initiative to hold the last of six National Town Hall Meetings on "Dyslexia and the Achievement Gap: A Civil Rights Issue of Our Times" on Friday, Nov. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Nob Hill Room of the Seven Hills Conference Center. The Town Hall Meeting, co-hosted by Congresswoman Barbara Lee and the College of Ethnic Studies, will feature a panel discussion, moderated by Washington D.C.-based award-winning journalist, social activist and political commentator Jeff Johnson. Panel members will include Reverend Keith L. Magee (project director of The Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity, Multicultural Dyslexia Awareness Initiative), co-directors doctors Sally and Bennett Shaywitz, and Daymond John (founder, president and CEO of clothing company FUBU).
