"We Are Still Here" multimedia exhibit opening
The campus community is invited to attend the opening of "We Are Still Here," a permanent multimedia exhibit about the historic 19-month American Indian occupation of Alcatraz Island that began in 1969. The opening event and celebration will take place Sunday, April 28 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. To attend, purchase tickets for the Alcatraz Cruises 8:45 a.m. ferry. For more information contact Philip M. The exhibit is collaboration between SF State, CSU East Bay and CSU Long Beach students and faculty, the SF State Richard Oakes Multicultural Center, The Cultural Conservancy, SF State Cesar Chavez Institute, the International Indian Treaty Council, the SF State Bay Area Television Archive and the National Park Service. Major funding has come from SEIU Local 1021 and SEIU Local 1021 Native American Caucus, and individual donors.
