The tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School have reopened America¿s debate on gun violence and effective policies to reduce this violence. As horrific as the rampage shootings are, they account for less than 1% of gun related deaths each year. The SF State Forum on Reducing Gun Violence will bring together national experts, government officials, and academics to discuss effective policies that can make a difference not only in mass shootings, but in the gun violence that occurs every day in our communities. The panelists and discussants will be selected as to offer multiple views and approaches on these complex issues.
