A Reading and Discussion of Recent Works by three esteemed colleagues Maxine Chernoff, Allen LeBlanc, and Sue Rosser Thursday, November 8, 12 to 1:30 SF State Bookstore, General Books Area Refreshments Courtesy of SF State Bookstore Maxine Chernoff, Professor and Department Chair of Creative Writing, will read from her two most recent poetry collections "Without" and "To Be Read in the Dark" and from an unfinished manuscript titled "A House in Summer." Allen LeBlanc, Health Equities Institute Professor of Sociology, will talk about his current NIH funded study "Minority Stress and Mental Health among Same-Sex Couples" and his long-term interest in the relationship between social stress exposure and health. Sue Rosser, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, will discuss her most recent book based on her work on women in the sciences "Breaking Into the Lab: Engineering Progress for Women in Science" published by New York University Press. Sacha Bunge, Dean of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development, will introduce the speakers and facilitate the discussion.
