Holly Rogers, a 2012 Fulbright scholar and lecturer at University of Liverpool, will discuss the role of music in nonfiction film narratives and composer biopics. The master class will include a screening of works by Werner Herzog, including "Death for Five Voices."
The event kicks off the Documentary Film Institute's fall master-class series. Cinema students and the Bay Area community will have the opportunity to engage documentary filmmakers in rigorous filmmaking discourse from experts. The series revolves around the pre-production process of making a documentary film from concept and social activism to funding and producing.
