Do you know why 35-percent growth in outbound health-care tourism is expected in 2012? Why go abroad for health-care services? What are the risks and benefits?
Joan Aragone will discuss. She is a journalist and educator who learned about medical tourism as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines and as a university instructor in Beijing. She has worked as a reporter in Contra Costa, Alameda and San Mateo counties, been an editor and writer for California Physician and produced a weekly column on senior issues for more than 10 years that appears in several East Bay newspapers.
